Fire testing
Our fire testing laboratory offers a full range of fire resistance and reaction to fire tests for the building, construction and marine industries. Reaction to fire tests quantify the response of a product, material or system to a fire.

-
Fire resistance testing
Fire resistance testing determines the performance of fire separations to provide fire resistance ratings or fire resistance levels.

Reaction to fire – interior surface finishes and linings
Managing the fire performance of interior surface finishes and linings limits the fire risk to building occupants who are in the same room as the fire origin.

Reaction to fire – exterior cladding systems
Cladding or façade systems need to resist fire from within the building or from a neighbouring building.

Reaction to fire – bushfire testing
In Australia, there are rigorous standards for the construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas.

Fire testing accreditation
Our accreditation is issued by IANZ under the international laboratory standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Fire assessments
Fire assessments offer a cost-effective alternative to testing. They are engineering-based evaluations in place of testing where there is a minor variation from the tested prototype. Fire assessments consider the fire performance of a material, product or system that would be expected if it were to be subjected to testing.
