BU535 Repairing cracks in concrete (2011)
Product Description
Concrete usually contains many fine hair cracks, and these are not normally serious enough to warrant any action. The acceptable width of larger cracks depends on the structure, the crack size and the environment. This bulletin explains how minor non-structural crack repairs may be carried out by builders and identifies those repairs that should be carried out by specialist operators.
This Bulletin updates and replaces Bulletin 363 of the same name.
The bulletin covers:
- causes of cracking, assessment of cracks, what cracks are acceptable and measurement of crack movement
- methods of repair
- Portland cement
- epoxy resin
- specialist injection technology
- elastomeric sealants
- cracks in industrial floors.
