Industry Research

Building and construction impact New Zealand's economy, environment and people's wellbeing. BRANZ, along with other research organisations, carry out research to better understand the nature of particular issues and how they interact in order to inspire the industry to provide better buildings for New Zealanders.

Investing in four programmes to achieve end-to-end solutions

BRANZ is investing a significant allocation of the Building Research Levy in four new programmes of work and knowledge transfer initiatives. The four programmes will develop end-to-end solutions to some of the most pressing issues currently facing the industry, and help provide better buildings for New Zealanders. The four programmes are:

Scoping two new programmes of work

  1. BRANZ is scoping a Low-Carbon Transition programme to examine climate change and its impact on New Zealand building. Read about the recent workshop
  2. The Keeping People and Buildings Safe from Fire programme aims to identify key components of a fire research programme to solve new and emerging issues.
