  Technical Helplines

The BRANZ technical helpline is funded by the Building Research Levy and is set-up to provide independent advice on information relating to building issues.

Not only does the helpline assist the New Zealand building and construction industry, we have also set up a consumer helpline.

We regret we are unable to respond to technical queries by email. All helpline responses are strictly on a case-by-case basis and are solely based on the information provided. If your question is of a non-technical nature, please complete the contact us form above, and we will endeavour to respond to you within 48 hours.

The helpline is available between Monday - Fridays, 8am - 5pm

This is available free to the New Zealand building and construction industry. 

Consumer helpline - 0900 5 90 90
Calls cost $1.99 per minute, plus GST. Full knowledge of the details of your enquiry may result in you being referred to someone else.

Online information search tool - BRANZ Find 
This is a useful digital helpline that links you to resources such as study report, online tools, guidelines, Codes of Practice, technical guidance, the Building Code, standards and legislation.
