SR311 Advanced residential construction techniques - opportunities and implications for New Zealand (2019)
Product Description
This report investigates the implications of moving to panellised off-site construction for New Zealand's residential construction industry. The report draws on extensive international literature reviews, industry interactions and findings from an industry-organised prefabrication study tour to Germany and Austria in 2013.
Key findings from this report include that the New Zealand residential construction industry is in an ideal position to benefit from decades of overseas experience and adapt the knowledge and techniques to suit the local context and although there are opportunities for all sizes of company to utilise off-site construction, going by overseas examples, it is likely that a medium to large-sized company would be required to operate efficient and effective factories in New Zealand.
