Fire resistance
BRANZ provides full consultancy and testing services for fire resistance testing and evaluation. Fire resistance testing determines the performance of fire separations to provide fire resistance ratings or fire resistance levels.
Interior surface finishes and linings
Managing the fire performance of interior surface finishes and linings limits the fire risk to building occupants who are in the same room as the fire origin.
Exterior cladding systems fire testing
The vertical spread of fire up the exterior of a multi-storey building is managed by limiting ignitability of cladding systems and components. The cladding or facade system needs to resist fire from within the building, or from a neighbouring building.
Bushfire
In Australia, there are rigorous standards for the construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas. Buildings in nominated bushfire zones must be capable of resisting the impact of a bushfire without active firefighting intervention.
Fire assessments
Fire assessments are engineering-based evaluations in place of testing where there is a minor variation from the tested prototype.
Fire testing accreditation
Our accreditation is issued by IANZ under the international laboratory standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
