Auckland Council

Auckland Council has a vision of zero waste by 2040, and in its Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) aims to reduce total waste to landfill by 30% by 2027. The council has identified C&D waste as a priority to achieve the WMMP's target. The council aims to work with developers to support C&D waste diversion. The council has produced useful research and resources, including Cost benefit analysis of construction and demolition waste diversion from landfill (2019).

Eco Choice Aotearoa

Eco Choice Aotearoa is the official New Zealand environmental labelling programme. In 2019, this organisation developed a specification for construction and demolition waste management to help reduce the amount of waste going to landfills.

Toitū Envirocare (a subsidiary of the government entity Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research) offers carbon management and carbon neutral certifications (previously known as CEMARS and carboNZero.) It also offers an environmental management system, Toitū enviromark (previously called Enviro-Mark).
