SR9 Background to DZ 4226 Draft New Zealand standard: Design for fire safety (2007)

The lack of an accessible record of the reasons behind the requirements of NZS 1900.5 Fire resisting construction and means of egress has been identified as one of the main deficiences of that standard.

This report details the background to the proposals of the SANZ sub-committee (38/6/2) and thus should provide a basis for the use of DZ 4226 in future code drafting.
