SR494 New House Owners’ Satisfaction Survey 2022 (2024)

This report presents the results of the 12th annual New House Owners’ Satisfaction Survey. The survey looked at how new house owners rated their builder and how satisfied they were with the builder’s performance. The survey covered a sample of New Zealand’s housing consents.

The 2022 New House Owners’ Satisfaction Survey included some new items regarding the input costs and provisional costing of new builds. Many of the new house owners who responded to the survey said the input costs were higher than they had expected, and while most of the respondents said the provisional cost sums had been accurately costed, some felt that these sums had been under costed.
