SR491 Combustible façades: Use and fire risk management in New Zealand (2024)

Product Description

This study report provides a holistic review of the current New Zealand regulatory settings around external vertical fire spread, test methods and the rationale behind them, with comparisons to other similar jurisdictions.

It presents a review of some historical façade fires globally along with contributing factors.

A series of supporting experiments and analyses were also conducted at the BRANZ test facilities as part of this project and documented in this report. Tests ranged from small-scale cone calorimeter testing of materials through to full-scale façade testing of systems using the BS 8414 test equipment.
