SR49 A building data model for integration (2007)
Product Description
This report describes the initial development of a building data model as a first step on the way towards achieving computer-integrated construction. The concept of integrated construction implies data models for all phases of a building's life cycle.
The present study has been focused on light timber-framed residential houses, looking at structural components at the late design stage. This scope fits the past computerisation work undertaken by BRANZ.
The report describes some current modelling work, reuses other models and refers to the STEP international standard. The report is a commentary combining other ideas with some ideas from our own study to develop an initial data model.
