SR287 New House Owners' Satisfaction Survey 2012 (2019)

A survey of new home owners was undertaken to determine how highly they rated their builder and how satisfied they were with the builder's performance. The survey's response rate was just over 29% and covered all detached housing consents in New Zealand where the owner did not build their own house.

This was the second New House Owners' Satisfaction Survey we have taken out, and in general, results improved from the previous survey. The call back rate fell from 72.3% in the 2011 survey to 67.9%. Some 12.4% of respondents stated that they would speak critically about their builder, which is lower than last survey.
