SR267 Building industry performance measures: Part 1 (2018)

Product Description

The Construction Productivity Partnership is developing a number of programmes to improve productivity in the building and construction industries. The goal is to raise productivity 20% by the year 2020. The metric for this is the official productivity statistics produced by Statistics New Zealand.

Previous work has shown the programme needs to address many aspects of the industry including firm behaviour, skills, procurement and client knowledge. The stakeholders are many, and all need to be involved in understanding what steps need to be taken to improve performance.

This project looks at how we can measure progress towards the goal. It looks at the drivers and outcomes of productivity, as set out in the Draft Research Action Plan. Ways to measure progress in each outcome are identified, and some baseline data is provided.
