SR223 Residential New Zealand fire statistics: Part 2 - two-level event tree analysis (2018)
Product Description
The process of specifying design fires appropriate for apartments in New Zealand should first include identification of the most common and most costly fire events or scenarios that are likely to occur. This is where a fire event is a general description of the location, item ignited and/or cause of ignition.
The results summarised here are based on the analysis of available statistics. This is the second of two reports that summarise the analysis of available New Zealand residential fire statistics.
There were three main objectives for this study:
- Identify the most common and the most costly fire events that occur in New Zealand residential structures.
- Determine the appropriateness of the use of New Zealand fire statistics for all residential structures to represent fire statistics for apartments.
- Determine the appropriateness of the use of New Zealand residential fire statistics to determine a selection of fire events for apartments.
