Product Description
Trends in the relative size of the intermediate housing market reflect renter households’ ability to become owner occupiers. The intermediate housing market is defined as households that:
- are currently in the private rental market
- have at least one member of the household in paid employment
- cannot afford to buy a house at the lower quartile house price under standard bank lending criteria.
This is a summary of the key findings in ER5.
