ER120 EBOSS Builder Sentiment Report 2025 (2025)
Product Description
The project builds on the groundwork laid by the 2024 sentiment research, which was designed to establish a benchmark annual survey for the industry. This survey aimed to estimate market conditions and industry workload, allowing for the comparison of results, the identification of trends and accurate measurement of the industry over time. The data provides key indicators for the new BRANZ Build Insights Industry Dashboard and will be used to fill some of the hard-to-source or non-existent data gaps. The 2024 research garnered great interest from industry, including media coverage from The Post, Interest.co.nz, The Press, The Kākā and Business Desk with Matthew Curtis (BRANZ Senior Economist) and interviews by RNZ and Newstalk ZB.
Establishing a standard format over time, any organisation surveying builders, architects or any other industry professional can use the same survey structure to enable the wider industry to benefit from individual research and enable quick comparison of different research.
Alongside the EBOSS audience, the project sought to increase collaboration with other industry organisations, including NZ Certified Builders (NZCB), Master Builders (RMBNZ), Architectural Designers Association (ADNZ) and NZ Institute of Architects (NZIA), surveying their members to provide a rich and robust picture of the building and construction industry.
Our goal is to provide meaningful, actionable data every year, supporting the industry in better planning for the pipeline ahead.
