BU615 Critical connections (2017)

Product Description

Critical connections in a building occur where loads are transferred from one structural element to another. Failure of a connection is likely to result in loss of structural integrity.

This bulletin describes critical connections of timber-framed buildings and the fixings required to meet design loads.

This bulletin covers:

  • types of connections
  • roof framing and roof-to-wall connections
  • wall and wall-to-floor connections
  • subfloor-to-foundation connections.
