This BRANZ Facts series is the result of a BRANZ search for robust technologies that are less common yet provide significant environmental benefits. A robust technology is one that can provide significant benefits to the majority of New Zealand homes while also being both easy and low cost to design, install, use and maintain.

Technologies investigated included micro-renewables, solar space heating and high-performance passive solar design.
