Non-traditional construction systems

Description

The broad focus of this project is on non-traditional construction systems. Two main workstreams reflect the projects that are being combined – the environmental impacts of non-traditional construction systems and emerging SIPs types for residential construction. The aim of the workstream on environmental impacts of non-traditional construction systems is to better understand the environmental impacts of the different types of new construction and prefabrication processes being used and emerging in New Zealand. The aim of the workstream on emerging SIPs types for residential construction is to determine the seismic performance and durability of SIPs made with magnesium oxide (MgO) board and metal skins.
