Research programme and publications

BRANZ is undertaking an extensive research programme to exploit the opportunities provided by the HEEP2 data collection. Research findings will be shared in stages - on this page, in Build magazine, at conferences, via BRANZ social media channels and with key stakeholders.

Research programme

BRANZ planned analyses of HEEP2 data include:

energy end-uses and indoor conditions across New Zealand houses and by sub-population groups and dwelling types (where sample size allows)
indicators of energy hardship/wellbeing and attitudes to energy use in the home
comparing energy use and outcomes for recent built-to-code and high-performance dwellings and the wider dwelling stock.
