B-Risk

B-RISK allows fire simulation results to be presented in a probabilistic form and allows the variability and uncertainty associated with the predictions of the fire environment to be quantified.

B-RISK is a two-zone fire simulation model that was developed at BRANZ with the University of Canterbury to provide users with the ability to analyse fire safety and smoke spread in buildings. B-RISK is a common choice in New Zealand for fire simulations in conjunction with C/VM2 design, while including several optional sub-models and both deterministic and semi-probabilistic analysis.

Zone models are suited for more simple spaces and although complex arrangements can be modelled computation fluid dynamics (CFD) may be better suited.
