EZpanel Cavity System
Description
The EZpanel Cavity System is a cavity-based external wall cladding system for residential and light commercial type buildings where domestic construction techniques are used. The system consists of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) panels (EZpanels) fixed over polystyrene battens to form a 20 mm or 40 mm cavity, or timber batten blocks to form a 40 mm cavity.
The EZpanel Cavity System is finished with either a cement-based option or an acrylic-based option. The cement-based option consists of a base coat of MLC plaster followed by either a cement-based finishing plaster or an acrylic-based finishing plaster. The acrylic-based option consists of a flanking coat of MLC plaster followed by a mesh coat of Powaflex acrylic plaster and an acrylic-based finishing plaster. Both base coat options are finished with an acrylic exterior paint system.
The system incorporates a primary and secondary means of weather resistance (first and second line of defence) against water penetration by separating the cladding from the external wall framing with a nominal 20 mm or 40 mm drained cavity.
