SR411 Mental health in the construction industry scoping study (September 2018)

Product Description

The construction industry has the highest proportion of suicides across all industries in New Zealand. To date, there has been no research in New Zealand investigating the factors that contribute to the high rate of suicide for the construction industry workforce.

This scoping study serves as a consultation with the New Zealand construction industry to gauge their support for further research on this issue. Interviewees were unanimous in their support for more research to investigate the scale of the mental health problem for the construction workforce, and recommendations are made based on their insights.
