About this programme
Auckland Council and other regional councils are attempting to address housing needs and improve city liveability by encouraging residential and commercial building types within the same development. This project identified the characteristics of high-density, mixed-use developments. It explored the success (or otherwise) of such developments. It also identified the effects of travel behaviour on transport service options so this kind of building in New Zealand can be planned for more effectively.
