About this programme

There is a growing interest in building multi-storey timber buildings, particularly ones that incorporate light timber framing (LTF). This interest is heightened as New Zealand responds to demand for new, higher density housing in urban centres such as Auckland. This work looked at ways of integrating different structural systems, such as concrete, steel, post-tensioned or cross-laminated timber. The aim was to help make light timber framed buildings more resilient in the event of natural hazards.
