Description
Loadbearing timber framed wall assembly comprising a timber frame with 90 mm deep x 45 mm wide studs set at 400 mm centres and nogs set at 800 mm centres. The timber frame was lined with a single layer of 10 mm thick GIB standard plasterboard to the unexposed face. The exposed face of the timber frame was lined with a Watergate Plus membrane, 50 mm wide x 20 mm thick timber battens and a single layer of 50 mm EZpanel AAC panels. The exposed face of the EZpanel panels was plastered with a coat of EZpanel Base Coat and a layer of Float Finish. The plaster layer was coated with Cotec Plastershield Exterior. The voids between the timber studs were filled with a 90 mm thick layer of Pink Batts insulation.
At the request of the client, a uniformly distributed axial load of 5.56 kN per stud was applied to the specimen and was maintained for a duration of 190 minutes.
