Organisation and Details

Building Research Association of NZ Inc. (BRANZ) invests the Building Research Levy in research and knowledge dissemination to inspire the industry to provide better buildings for New Zealanders. The Association is the 100% owner of BRANZ Ltd which delivers research, testing, consultancy and information services.

Particular skills/competencies
Skills that are specifically sought to support or enhance the current Board make up are: 

  • Corporate governance experience including risk and asset management; experience with Chairing Committees/Boards
  • Extensive experience in the building sector, awareness of dynamics of the building industry, understanding views from different parts of the sector; expansive knowledge in building regulations and occupational licensing
  • Governance experience in digital disruption/technology 

There are two Director roles to be elected in 2018. The current people elected by BRAC are eligible, and willing to make themselves available, for re-election.

Commitment required

There are six Board meetings per annum, one day duration. Attendance at AGM, sub-committee meetings as required (typically three per annum). Industry or BRANZ functions as appropriate.

Geographic considerations
No preference.

The quantum of the honorarium is to be advised. Actual and reasonable out-of-pocket expenses are also paid.
