  NZS 3604 Nail Listing process

Nail listing process.png

The process is a simple one. A sample of nails is taken randomly from a batch supplied by the client. A sub-sample of these nails is dimensionally checked to ensure that the nail dimensions are within the allowable range of AS 2334-1980. A further subset is subjected to a bend test in accordance with ASTM F1667-15. The nails are checked to ensure that there is no evidence of cracking at the bend. If the nails have a zinc coating, the coating is stripped to determine that the coating has a weight of more than 320 g/m2. Once all the applicable tests are done and the criteria are satisfied the nails are entered onto the nail list on the BRANZ website.
