Solid timber strip floors are a popular floor finish in both domestic and commercial buildings. Traditionally, these were installed on a suspended timber floor, but today it is common to specify a timber strip floor laid directly onto a concrete slab.
Problems can occur if the concrete is not dry enough when the floor is laid or the moisture content of the flooring material itself is incorrect.
