We are very pleased to announce that ALF 3.2 is now live and ready for use. You can find the link to the program under ALF 3.2 further down this page.
ALF 3.2 (Annual Loss Factor) tool is a free online aid to the thermal design of houses. It is presented in a step-by-step format providing a simple method of calculating the energy performance of conventional New Zealand houses.
ALF 3.2 is a verification method for determining the Building Performance Index (BPI), which can be used to show compliance with the Energy Efficiency Clause H1 of the New Zealand Building Code.
The ALF programme has been optimised to work with the Mozilla Firefox web browser (downloaded free from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html), we recommend you use this browser. Alternatives that are suitable are: Opera 9 or higher, or Safari 2 or higher.
To sign up as a New User, go to the "get a subscription" link along the top bar of the page and fill in the details. You can request a new password if you have forgotten or misplaced it.
At this stage, MyBRANZ logins will not work due to the different systems but will link together shortly.
