BRANZ Incorporated Society
BRANZ Inc is a significant investor in industry-good research and knowledge dissemination to the wider building and construction industry. It receives almost all its income from the Building Research Levy, and invests this to achieve benefits for the New Zealand community by improving the knowledge base of the New Zealand building and construction sector.

Building Research Advisory Council
Membership of the Building Research Advisory Council (BRAC) is drawn from across the industry and comprises nominees of a wide range of industry organisations who advise on information needs and strategic directions for BRANZ. The BRACe newsletter is for members of the Building Research Advisory Council and their respective industry bodies. This section is for authorised members only.

Building Research Levy
The Building Research Levy Act 1969 authorises the levying of building contractors to provide money for research into improved techniques and materials for use in the building industry.

Our history
We can trace our roots back into the 1950s as the Building Research Bureau, an industry-owned information service.
